THE ORIGIN OF THE PLANT

The Duke of Borgogna, once high Provence, of which he was healing from, last prince of San Severo, Michele De Sangro, from that French pleasing country imported and planted new olive groves, which soon made the golden nectar with its unique taste and fragrance, the extract oil from Peranzana cultivating that soon became known in the whole Great duchy. It obtained the most important qualitative awards. Since then, the noble spirit and judicious of Michele De Sangro has always inspired the company to responsibility and innovation which, in respect of traditions and quality it will let its products noted all over the world.
The Duke of Torremaggiore, Michele de Sangro, that also was Baron of Fiorentino and Dragonara , Utile of Cantigliano Tower, Porto Fortore and also Utile of St Andrea, Prince of San Severo, was the first to introduce in Apulia and plant for their own use, in the moat of the Ducal Castle of Torremaggiore, the first “trappeto”, made of a fire mill of an olive-press, presses in order to obtain oil in a number of four, provided each ones with the relative grave of harvest of the “mosto oil”.

THE CULTURE OF OUR OIL

Judiciously, are grown and selected the best olive groves from which derive the best drupes, healthy and safe, from where the most genuine oil can be extracted, essence rich in polyphenols and antioxidants. In this way, for more than 100 years, the traditional art introduced by the Duke of Burgundy of Torremaggiore continues to produce only the finest olive oils.
